The belief system that they practiced was Christianity. the Byzantine Empire was one of the first caltholic empires. It first develpoed in western and eastern parts of the roman empire. the Eastern Othodox Church and Roman Catholic Church had different relationships with the government

Items that were traded in the Byzantine Empire were pottery (mostly table pottery; pots, bowls, plates ect.) Marble was also traded within the empire. Silk was made in the empire and was traded. The people of the empire bought grains and cotten from Africans, and that was mostly all they got from outside their empire.
